Back Stories

So I have recently become very interested in all the back stories in the Bible. Take Mark - he is writing the "memoriors of Peter" or so that is what the history section of my Bible tells me.
Mark uses the word immediately, a lot. It's actually pretty funny. Do you think he or possibly Peter wanted things to happen quickly all the time - do you think one or both had a touch of ADD? Does Mark have a short attention span - he jumps around so much? Or could it have been that Peter was so excited and just loved following Jesus so much that he told Mark his thoughts in "stream of conciousness" mode?

Also in 1 Peter 3, Peter talks about wives - I know and believe that the Bible was totally inspired by the Lord. But do you think that Peter was directed by the Lord to write that based on his wife, or mother-in-law (see Mark 1:29-31), or maybe he and his wife had some friends where the husband chose to follow Christ (literally when Christ was physically on the earth) by the wife's devotion and actions?
Because Peter was married, he must of had a desire to have a godly marriage and most likely for others who are married to have also have a godly marriage.

So far one of my favorites is the story of Blind Bartimaeus . Can't you picture it? :)
I think it's so interesting that Jesus stood still and waited for Bartimaeus to come to him, or well be helped to Him at least. And then Jesus asks Bartimaeus what he wants Him to do for him. And Bartimaeus doesn't even hesitate - he knows exatly what he wants. He gets down to the very need that hinders him.
I think if Jesus asked me that question - what would I say, would I get down to my deepest need or would I ask for other things?

What would you say if Jesus said: "What do you want Me to do for you?"

Window Treatments!

Window treatments - formally known as curtains - have made their way on my windows after a year! These lovely orange curtians were in our bedroom when we lived in Texas and now they nicely accent our living room walls by mirroring the light orange wall across from them!

The brown ones below were actually meant to go in the sunroom, but make the bathroom much nicer!

Then there is Brent shooting me with a nerf gun he found while cleaning out! HAHA!! He's so fun!

Also today is my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday, mom! Love you!

Addendum

Yes, I know 3 posts in one night is ridiculous - but I get side-tracked! :)

I posted something on my facebook and I wanted to add an addendum to the post on March 7 about April and Tobi getting married. I remembered that I actually did have a breakdown while I worked at the Seminary. It was the week before Trustees. Enough said.

Face-lift

I decided while I posted it blog that it was time for a face lift! I have also got to come up with a new name for this blog. Our Journey doesn't fit anymore. So, if you have any ideas, please share.

Thanks!

Random thought of the day: John Wayne was born in 1907. How wierd is that?

The 4 "I's" of shopping....

#1 - I am a terrible shopper. Honestly. I usually wander aimlessly through a store and move the clothes on the racks hoping that some fabulous outfit will jump out at me, with a cheap price tag.
I usually have shop off manquiens and pictures in the stores to come up with a "cute" outfit.

#2 - I realize that I have expensive taste. I get this from my mother, altough she does not buy expensively, this is problaby why I think it ridiculous to pay the $35 for one shirt at New York and Co. or Belks and then wind up with nothing at all or something that looks exactly what I already have in hanging in the closet that was on the clearance rack with last years clothing items.

#3 - I am not very good at shopping with people, with the exception of my mom and Christy. Christy is a fabulous shopper who can land all kinds of deals and has great ideas. Even with other girls or Brent I tend to wander and focus more on what they are doing or looking at, than finding the reason I came to shop!

#4 - I have recently discovered Ross! It's so great! Cheap clothes, cute clothes, and I came up with outfits all on my own! I have been in there 3 times (one last year and two this year) and have had to execute my will-power to not buy the entire store! Yes, you do have look through the racks, but they have such variety and you can take 8 items into the dressing room!

I love it. You've got to try it.

Photographers

Recently I realized that I know a lot of friends who are photographers. Several have started their own photography business (with the exception of Whispers. I do not know anyone in this photography business - I just think their photographs are amazing!).

I have posted their links on the right side of screen, just in case you are ever in need of a photographer.

There are also several that I know that do not have a business in place, but take beautiful photos: Amber and Tara S. are two that I can think of at the moment. They have blogs under my friends.

Hopefully I haven't left anyone out. I will update this list if necessary.

Enjoy.

Enjoy.

PS - check out the the Little Love gallery once you enter the Whispers website!

Mr. and Mrs.

April and Tobi were married on Saturday. It was such a great day! Here are a few pictures that are posted in the wrong order! I thought I had more, but I think I took those with her camera and I did not get to take any pictures at the reception. They are now cruising in the Bahamas! :)

April getting married!

April and Tobi are getting married on Saturday! She is beautiful! Brent will be performing the wedding, while I will be telling everyone else what do to. :) HA! or at least attempting to......
April and Tobi are a very fun couple and have managed to plan a great wedding in 3 months!
We have a pretty fun present to give them, but can't say anything till next week.
Yesterday our Aunt Barbara and myself did a family shower for them. I had great plans to make chocolate covered strawberries and some fruit skewers - but those plans completely and utterly failed! It was pretty sad. I ended up just throwing all the fruit in bowls and grabbed the chicken salad and left in a trail of tears. - it's been a rough week. I even had a breakdown at work on Friday, with a customer in the lobby of course (way to go, Marianne)! That has never happened before in my life! I have never had a breakdown at any job I have had in all my years of working. I was a little shocked myself. The word rough does not really do it justice though. It all started on Tuesday and ended yesterday! :)
This week has to be better. :) The shower ended up very well and the fruit looked very nice in the bowls -thank goodness for people who by you crystal for wedding presents! You never know when it will come in handy! :)

Snow in March

But it was all gone by lunch and we still had to go work.
